Hughes Software Systems’ world-leading ProtoQuick SS7 and VoIP software, integrated on Comuniq’s Streaming Media Application Server (SMAS) products, creates the highest density, highest performance platform available today for Advanced Intelligent Network, Wireless Network, and Voice over IP applications.San Jose, CA – Jan 3, 2000: Comuniq, Inc., and Hughes Software Systems Ltd., (HSS) today announced an intent to collaborate to deliver HSS’s leading ProtoQuick SS7, and VoIP suite of software solutions on Comuniq’s family of Streaming Media Application Server (SMAS) products. The integrated product from HSS and Comuniq will add tremendous value to the customer besides offering maximum flexibility because the SMAS products share and enhance HSS’ key product benefits: standards based, open interface, scalable architecture and ease of integration and customization. The first products resulting from this collaboration are expected to be available as early as the first quarter of 2000. HSS ProtoQuick SS7 signaling stack confirms to ANSI, ITU, ETSI, and GR ( Telecordia/Bellcore ) standards and has the highly acclaimed built-in high availability and redundancy features. HSS ProtoQuick H.323 signaling stack is V2 compliant and has been proven for interoperability with industry standard VoIP products. Comuniq’s SMAS E1/T1 board delivers up to 15.4Mbps (240 x 64 kbps channels) capacity of IP-switched multimedia (voice, video and data) in a single cPCI slot under Windows NT, Solaris and Linux Operating Systems.
