Release Rapid City, SD - September 21, 2000 COMUNIQ TO RECEIVE MAGNET AWARD Rapid City, SD – September 21, 2000 Jonas Hahn, President Comuniq ASA and Bernt Askildsen, President Comuniq, Inc. will attend the Rapid City Annual Chamber of Commerce meeting later this month to accept the Magnet Award on behalf of Comuniq, Inc. "I am pleased to have the opportunity to visit Rapid City. The community has been extremely supportive of Comuniq and we are honored to receive such an award," says Jonas Hahn. Comuniq, a technology development company from Norway, rooted itself in Rapid City in 1998. At its inception, the company employed seven engineers. Today Comuniq employees over 35 people and has plans for future expansion. "Comuniq has had a healthy growth cycle through the last two years focusing on developing the future platform for the converged Computer Telephony market. The long research and development effort has now paid off with deployment of systems globally. When moving into the mainstream market other demands surfaces in an organization requiring us to continue staffing up in Rapid City," says Bernt Askildsen. Comuniq has a long-standing relationship with the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and the community. The company provides high-tech, top-paying jobs that were previously unavailable in this area encouraging growth and new business. The company is committed to supporting the community. Robbin Walton, Office Manager at Comuniq feels that supporting local businesses has been important for Comuniq. "Comuniq's presence here in Rapid City can certainly make a difference. The Magnet Award, presented by the Board of Directors of the Rapid City Economic Development Partnership is awarded to an organization that has completed a significant local expansion; relocation from outside the area; continual commitment by the company to the community. Comuniq will accept the Magnet Award at the Annual Chamber of Commerce meeting September 29, 2000 at 8 PM in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. |
