Comuniq seeks to expand its HW group which develops the SMAS HW platform and exciting new telecom products.  As part of this team, you will be working  with the latest technology in the hottest telecom sector in an exciting and rewarding atmosphere.

The position requires 4+ years of sound engineering background gained by working in a responsible design position.  The qualified candidate should have a degree in electronic engineering or similar discipline.  High speed processor design experience is required, ideally with TI C6 DSPs and Intel i960 processors.  Other requirements include, high-speed digital design skills, EPLD/FPGA design preferably with Altera, software development proficiency in C and assembler, and good communication and team working skills.

Responsibilities will include defining product requirements and specifications, technical feasibility studies, system architecture design, schematics capture, EPLD/FPGA design, product verification, and system integration.

The candidate should be familiar with EMI compliance design and high-speed signal routing, thermal considerations as well as design for high volume manufacturability and test.  Design experience using Pads PowerPCB, BlazeRouter and Spectra also a plus.
